Everybody loves LA even if you don’t you do… this is all about hiking fashion, if there is such a thing.
People love to hike in LA. And fashion. Put the two together - that’s LA for you.
Yes fashion. Even. On hikes.
So here I am fashionspotting in Culver City. Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, to be exact.
What to wear if you go?? What kind of fashion did I spy? Does it even matter? Ha!
First of all. Colors are somewhat global but then totally not. I’m telling you.
Oh those black and blues… are they even conscious of it?
Pink is a stand out as is teal, interestingly enough.
Tshirts are either music or anime on kids or Los Angeles/Hawaii/beaches, parks and rec, you know… hot stuff ❤️🔥 (one even says that!).
Scarves and bandanas seem to be an all around necessity.
Leopard fannys - these packs are seen frequently, not-so-surprisingly these days, but oh so very, on a hike.
Strapping strappy black is particularly cute on one hiker.
Buckets and truckers are fun…
Everyone does it cool no matter who you are, so you just gotta love LA. That’s the point.
I do see some honest hiker gear (so yeah you could do it that way!) Kinda cute… I guess this is a hike!? Ha ha.
As I pant my way up the hill...
There are flowers sneakers, LA hats, cool headphones…lots of ‘em.
Couple of stunning sets, for the ladies, one flare.
Oh the loose baggy Japanese look. On a hike! I can’t even breathe (by the top).
What’s my favorite? A Canadian suit (with baby)…can you hike in that, girl?! I guess so!
Ok I’m on the way down - just me and the geckos - style-watching.
More hats. Of course.
Sun hats fishermen-style hiking hats and with cord straw or smallish sombrero, straw fedora... more bandanas, weighted vests and colourful ankle-weights. Sensible. Yes.
Oh you gotta love Baldwin Hills, LA people.
As I continue to descend: More girls and guys in pink and purple… like me in lavender yoga pants. I have respect for someone I see who actually thought about it…going on a hike, I mean. It’s hard to explain… but most people on these Baldwin stairs or adjacent hike really aren’t dressed for hiking. If you’re an Angeleno, you probably know.
Teal is so big, weirdly enough, like I mentioned. It’s pops of this color. Or it’s patterned pants.
Camouflage is queen. Thanks geckos.
On hair:
Loose locks still curled from last night.
On faces: Cat eye sunnies
On bodies: Metallic shoes, neon and don’t forget the “Absolutely didn’t plan on coming on a hike” people (wearing purses)!!!
Oh, it’s so fun. Hiking in LA. The fashion goes so far. Sigh.
